Team17 have announced that they’re partnering with developers OverBorder Studio to publish the punishing action-RPG Themesia, which is set to launch on PC later this year. To celebrate the announcement, there’s a brand new trailer at the top of the page.
What’s Thymesia About?
In Thymesia, the world has been ravaged by deadly plagues. You’ll play as Corvus, who’s able to seize the diseased powers of his enemies and turn them into weapons. The combat itself is incredibly fast-paced, with players having to master the ability to dodge and parry attacks in order to survive. Replayability sounds like a huge feature for Thymesia too, with players able to customise their abilities in a variety of ways. There’s even multiple endings to discover.
When speaking about the partnership, the Game Director for OverBorder Studio, Moon Lee, had this to say: “The amount of enthusiasm from the community has been incredible and we’re happy to be working with Team17 on Thymesia. Their support has been instrumental in the game’s development, and we can’t wait to share the challenging world we’ve created with players later this year.”
Team17 Producer Craig McCarthy also spoke on how Thymesia is unlike the publishing house’s usual games: “Thymesia is a unique title for Team17, and we’re dead excited to be working with OverBorder Studio on this dark and gloomy title. We’re confident that players are going to enjoy exploring the world and testing their combat skills as Corvus, challenging themselves against the monstrous foes that await.”
