If you’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing over buying Deck13’s The Surge, let its now released demo make the decision for you.
Giving players hours of content to dip into, the demo is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Better yet, if you aren’t turned away by its difficulty, your progress will carry over should you choose to pick up the full game.
Constantly referred to as a sci-fi Souls game, The Surge has enough of its own ideas to make it worth a look – did you have a mech suit to use against the Asylum Demon? Thought not.

“Although it may look to be Dark Souls with a sci-fi skin, it would be a disservice to think of The Surge in those terms. It is a punishingly difficult game, but failure rarely feels unfair. It is certainly not one to be overlooked, especially if, like me, you are looking for your latest Dark Souls or Bloodborne fix.”
