Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Content Will End After Fighters Pass Vol. 2

The end is coming.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai has stated that the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be the last content update for the game, meaning we’ll see no more characters added to the game after the pass has concluded.

According to an interview Sakurai conducted with Famitsu, which was pulled from the Japanese magazine by Ryokutya2089, after all six characters are released, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will not be receiving any more content updates. On top of that, he states that there are no plans to release another game in the series on current console generations.

As for the characters that’ll be forming the second Fighters Pass, each one has already been chosen by Nintendo, so it’s only up to Sakurai and the team working on Smash Bros. to bring those six characters to the game. Each character in the pack will come with a new stage and multiple music tracks. Hopefully, we’ll see some surprising entries, especially considering it’ll be the last six characters added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
