Starfield: Where To Find Sedatives

Sedatives are a type of resource that can be hard to come by while exploring the vast universe of Starfield. You’ll need Sedatives to craft various things, like weapon mods and structures. As this resource is organic, you cannot mine it with your Cutter like you can with minerals like Uranium. So, we are going to give you some tips on how to acquire this must-have resource.

Grab your best rifle and bring all the ammo you can, because we’re going hunting. A viable strategy is to hunt certain creatures across the galaxy that drop sedatives. Knowing which creatures to shoot is a difficulty in itself, but using your hand scanner will make things easier. Point and scan the nearby wildlife, and your hand scanner will tell you what resource they drop. Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System is a good place to hunt for Sedatives.

The apex predator of all the systems in the galaxy is a hotspot for sedatives. The Terrormorph drops them regularly, to the point where we are convinced it’s guaranteed. The Terrormorph gets its name for a reason though, so it should be a last resort strategy unless you’re seeking a challenge.

If you’ve come back from a long day’s hunt and found little yield or just don’t want to bother, then you can always purchase Sedatives. Various vendors sell Sedatives across the settled systems, which is easy pickings if you need a little boost. Here are some vendors you can access early in your playthrough:

– UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis Commercial District)
– Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
– Midtown Minerals (Akila City)
– Mining League (Neon)

Lastly, your companions can give you gifts from time to time. A popular gift from Sarah is a Sedative (Flower), which gives you the resource you need. Though this is RNG-heavy, it’s a nice possible bonus on top of everything else.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X & S.
