Starfield: Where To Find Hallucinogen

Hallucinogen

Hallucinogen is a rare tier 2 resource that you’ll come across during your adventures in Starfield. This resource is an organic material and is used in numerous crafting recipes that will help you grow stronger.

Unlike minerals, Hallucinogens cannot be mined but are instead harvested from various organic life forms found across the universe. With roughly 10% of Starfield’s planets housing organic life, it may be hard to come across this resource.

If you fancy travelling, Akila is home to many bizarre creatures, some of which drop the Hallucinogen resource when defeated. Celebrai II in the Celebrai system also has some aggressive fauna that drop the resource when killed.

If you pull up your scanner while searching a planet or moon that houses life, you’ll want to scan 100% of a creature to discover what resources they can drop.

There are a couple of skills that’ll help speed this process along. The Surveying skill is great for scanning flora and fauna from further away, allowing you to stay away from potential hostile life. The Zoology skill will help decrease the scan time, giving you a much higher percentage each time you scan a creature.

Additionally, Terrormorphs have a chance of dropping Hallucinogens, so good luck with that. Let’s be realistic; not only is the drop chance left in the hands of fate, but fighting these 6-legged freaks is going to end badly for most.

If culling Starfield’s aliens doesn’t appeal, you can also purchase Hallucinogen if you’d prefer a short-term approach. There are only a few vendors that sell it, so stock up while you can. Some easy-to-get-to vendors that you’ll find early in your playthrough are:

  • Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
  • Denis Averin (Cydonia/Mars)
  • Midtown Minerals (Akila City)
  • Mining League (Neon)

Buying Hallucinogen in bulk is the most effective way of acquiring this resource, as farming it can prove difficult.
