Star Wars Resistance Character Art Revealed

We haven’t heard much about Star Wars Resistance since it was announced several months ago, although several pieces of key art from the upcoming animated series were revealed during a presentation at the RDVDisney 2018 event in France. The images can be viewed below thanks to the Yakface Twitter account.

Resistance will employ an anime art-style, and will take place shortly before the events of The Force Awakens. The series will mainly focus on Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot hired by the Resistance to spy on the First Order, a rogue military faction with similar ideologies to the fallen Galactic Empire. We can probably assume that Kazuda is the guy in the center of the image on the right, with Poe Dameron and BB-8 as well as several new faces standing behind him. The image on the left shows a sample of the show’s rogues’ gallery, which includes Captain Phasma, several Stormtroopers, and what appears to be an Elite Praetorian Guard.

Similarly to Star Wars Rebels, Resistance will premiere on the Disney Channel before being regularly broadcast on Disney XD, although an exact air date has yet to be confirmed. The show was once again created by Dave Filoni, and will star Christopher Sean, Bobby Moynihan, Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, Myrna Velasco, and Josh Brener, with Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie guest starring as Dameron and Phasma, respectively. Seeing as Rebels was a big hit, it looks likely that Resistance will fly to the same heights.
