Lionsgate Movies just released the trailer for Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and so far, the reboot is looking good. Ardent Saw fans were initially skeptical when they heard the franchise was being rebooted, but now, the teaser trailer has gotten them excited for the movie.
The idea for the movie was conceived by Chris rock, who is also producing and starring in the film. Joining Rock are a whole host of talented actors, such as Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols. The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed most of the Saw movies, and written by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger.
The opening moments of the trailer set up this buddy-cop type movie, only for things to spiral (see what I did there?) where they discover that the murderous game still continues, only this time cops are being targeted.
This release was specially shared on the Saw subreddit after the trailer leaked in the sub. The leaked trailer started to make its way around the internet, but most of these attempts to share the trailer on platforms like YouTube have been subverted. The new poster for the movie was also released today, and it looks fantastically surreal and spooky.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw will be released in theatres May 15, 2020.
