Spider-Man PS4 Platinum Avatars Being Sent Out Now

Did you Platinum Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4? You may have a special avatar waiting for you.

Marvel's Spider-Man 6

Cultured Vultures spoilers

Marvel’s Spider-Man was one of the best games of last year, a lovely throwback to superhero games of old that could go on to kickstart a video game universe for Marvel characters. It also, as a blessing for easily distracted players like myself, had one of the easiest Platinum trophies to attain, sans some attrition with a couple of its trophies. If you were one of the many who dusted it off, check your email.

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t fully beaten Marvel’s Spider-Man.

You should have received a free Avatar for getting the Marvel’s Spider-Man Platinum; check under “promotions” in Gmail or other folders if you can’t see anything in your main inbox. A short email will detail your accomplishment and then give you a code to redeem.

“The city is saved, the Sinister Six have been vanquished and Howard’s pigeons are back home. A hero’s reward is in order.”

Take that over to the PlayStation Store, redeem it, and then enjoy a free avatar to show off your accomplishment.

That is far too many avatars from The Quiet Man.

All in all, it’s pretty neat little touch from Sony that emulates what they typically do for their biggest exclusives. Off the top of my head, players received something similar for Platinuming God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, and while this avatar isn’t quite as cool as the others, it’s still a free thing and free things are never bad things.

From our Marvel’s Spider-Man review:

“With all the freedom it gives you to web-sling through New York City and stick goons to walls, Spider-Man for PS4 is the best Spider-Story I’ve had the pleasure to experience, and even on its own is a brilliant game.”
