Sony Will Publish Games On The Nintendo Switch

As unlikely as it may seem, Sony will be publishing games on the Nintendo Switch. This is despite the fact that the Switch remains a huge competitor to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console.

GamesIndustry.biz reported that Sony Music Entertainment recently formed a brand new publishing division called Unties, which will mainly focus on releasing small indie games. We know that games released under the label will be released on PS4, Switch, and PC, although it remains to be seen if they will also be coming to Xbox One.

The first game published by Unties will be the strategy title Tiny Metal, which arrives on November 21st. Other confirmed titles include Last Standard, Merkava Avalanche, and Deemo.

You can view trailers for all four below. Note that Tiny Metal is currently the only one confirmed for a Switch release.

Although they’re both owned by the same corporation, Unties is separate from Sony’s flagship Interactive Entertainment gaming division, so don’t expect to see to see Switch versions of Uncharted 4 or Horizon Zero Dawn anytime soon. Either way, with indie games being bigger than ever, it still seems likely that Unties will provide a strong source of income for their parent company for many years to come.
