UPDATE: The Japanese magazine Famitsu contacted Sony Japan regarding the below job listing, and Sony confirmed that the information contained in the listing is inaccurate.
According to a Google Translate of Sony’s statement, the mistake was due to the recruitment site: “It was due to a mistake in the recruitment site, not the content that was written by our company.”
ORIGINAL POST: A new Japanese job listing on the website Rikunabi for Sony has revealed that the company are shooting for an October 2020 release for the PS5. The little nugget of information was found by the Twitter user @Nibellion, which you can check out for yourself below.

According to a Google Translate of the page, the job appears to surround the procurement of components from manufacturers and companies around the world in order to create the PS5. The listing appears to be legit, but there’s no date on when the listing was posted, so there’s a possibility the information is outdated.
Sony have stated that the PS5 would be launching around Holiday 2020, so an October launch is a little earlier than usual, and with the ongoing pandemic, launching in October might not even be viable to begin with. Hopefully, we’ll have a proper update from Sony in the near future.
