SmackDown News: Brock Lesnar Returns & Attacks Kofi Kingston

A title match has been set for SmackDown's Fox debut

We are well and truly reliving 2003 as ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar has returned to SmackDown Live to challenge for the WWE Championship. Lesnar appeared during the main event of last night’s SmackDown Live, assaulting Kofi Kingston after The New Day were victorious over the team of Randy Orton and The Revival. Brock tossed the champ about and then laid down the challenge for the debut episode of SmackDown on Fox Sports.

What a huge match for the blue brand’s premier, a true test for Kingston as WWE Champion. This will also mark Brock Lesnar’s first non-PPV match since his return in 2012. Lesnar very rarely appears outside of the major pay-per-views, so this is a real testament to how much WWE are willing to do to ensure top ratings.

‘The Beast’ left standing tall, which is more than we can say for King Corbin, who was attacked by Chad Gable during his coronation on last night’s episode. It seems that Gable isn’t quite finished with the newest member of WWE’s royal family.

The reformed Bludgeon Brothers also laid waste to Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan in their return to SmackDown Live, so we can only assume the reckoning isn’t quite over yet.
