What Is Sk8 The Infinity: Season 2 About?
The end of Season 1 showed fans Langa beating Ainosuke Shindou, or Adam as he’s known in “S.” Now that they’ve conquered the underground ring “S,” what’s next for Reki and Langa?
The thing is, Sk8 The Infinity is an original story. It isn’t based on a manga or light novel. An official manga started circulating in March 2021, but the anime was already well underway at that point. Since there’s no prior material to look to, we can only speculate on what the future of the series has in store.
The most obvious direction to take is for the duo to discover a more elite skateboard competition. Maybe a different branch of “S” if not something completely new. They revealed a new course at the end of Season 1, so that could be an option too.
Hiroko Utsumi, the creator of Sk8, gave an interview where she hinted at some things. She stated that Sk8 The Infinity: Season 2 would show fans a little more about what’s going on between Shadow and his boss. She also mentioned a shopping district location they’ll use for Season 2.
Which Studio Is Making Sk8 The Infinity: Season 2?
The promotional image for Sk8 The Infinity: Season 2 already revealed that Studio Bones is coming back to animate it. The production team is a little more vague though. Aniplex, Movic, and ABC Animation all co-produced Season 1, but it’s currently unclear if all of them are sticking for Season 2.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Steins;Gate, and Violet Evergarden are some of the shows that came from the companies mentioned. Fans have already seen how good Season 1 is, so Sk8 The Infinity: Season 2 has some pretty big shoes to fill.
