SINGLE PREMIERE: NRVS LVRS – ‘Sundowning’

All the way from San Francisco, we bring you the new single from shoegaze outfit NRVS LVRS. For two and a half minutes let the Californians tell you about life in their world – a skill they refined on their 2015 album The Golden West, and churn out again with ‘Sundowning’.

Don’t be fooled by the seemingly straightforward seconds that open the track. Before you’ve had chance to catch your breath you’ll realise you’ve been washed away in the haze and buzz that reiterates itself throughout ‘Sundowning’. The refrain “Even if it hurts”, repeated with ever increasing urgency, will be burnt into your mind by the time the track finishes, if the fuzz doesn’t blast everything else away.

The chaos of the busy city and the pin points of the bright lights are equally magnified through the instrumental, and the plunges and nonchalant vocals drum up an image of what it’s like to live in such a busy world.

‘Sundowning’ was recorded partly at home, and partly in Los Angeles with Manny Nieto (Darker My Love, Health, Breeders). This summer NRVS LVRS will be recording with Larry Cane at Jackpot! Studio Recording in Portland, working on a follow up to last year’s The Golden West.
