Single of the Week: The Ramona Flowers – ‘Vultures’

Ramona Flowers

The newest Cultured Vultures Single of the Week goes to the young and exciting Bristol band, and fellow scavenging bird endorsers, The Ramona Flowers for their upcoming single ‘Vultures’.

The Ramona Flowers, named after the Scott Pilgrim character, are an indie outfit made up of Dave (keyboards), Wayne (bass) Sam (guitar) Steve (vocals) and Ed (drums), who in recent times have toured with bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club and indie-electronica stars Alt-J. The single itself is taken from their debut album, titled ‘Dismantle and Rebuild’, which is released on the 14th July.

‘Vultures’ is a great single. Saturated with indie-rock goodness, a catchy chorus, vocals that evoke memories of Brandon Flowers (before The Killers stopped being good), and instrumentals that demonstrate the raw talent of the band. The Ramona Flowers are at a ton of festivals this year so if you get the opportunity, go and see them perform before they become as huge as they’re going to be.

‘Dismantle and Rebuild’ is out on July 14th, and ‘Vultures’ is released in under a weeks’ time.

Enjoy.
