Shortform Narrative Game We Should Talk Launching On July 16th

Coming to PC, Xbox One and Switch.

We Should Talk

Developers Insatiable Cycle have announced that their shortform narrative game We Should Talk will be launching on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on July 16th, with a PS4 version also in the pipeline. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Published by Whitethorn Digital, We Should Talk follows the train of thought that it’s not just what you say, but how you say it. Instead of picking a reply to a character, players will craft sentences, and it’s those sentence that dictate how people interact with you. Throughout the game, you’ll discuss your relationship with Sam, your in-game partner, via text message, while shooting the breeze with the local bar patrons.

Depending on your words and actions, your relationship may or may not survive the night, with multiple different endings available. For someone who’s been hit with the “we should talk” line before a break-up, this one feels close to home, but it looks to be a genuinely innovative way to approach in-game narratives, and one I’ll definitely be checking out. Will you be playing We Should Talk? Sound off in the comments.
