Current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, has been out with a wrist injury since December of last year, unable to defend the championship that hasn’t been seen on PPV since last WrestleMania. Nakamura has confirmed that he is now cleared to wrestle, posting a photo of his most recent x-ray to his Instagram account.

It’s highly likely that Nakamura will return to the ring as part of this weekend’s Royal Rumble match. Whether ‘The King of Strong Style’ will make it as far as the final few, or have any memorable run in general, is up for debate.

Nakamura was last seen feuding with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss, and had a future contender confirmed in Sami Zayn. Shinsuke has also been pairing with Rick Boogz in tag matches around his irregular title defences.
