Sheltered 2 Launching On Steam Later This Year

Survival of the fittest.

Sheltered 2

Team17 and Unicube have announced that the sequel to the resource management survival game Sheltered, the aptly named Sheltered 2, will be launching on PC via Steam this year. The news coincides with a new announcement trailer that showcases some of the pitfalls that managing a post-apocalyptic society comes with. Check it out above.

What Is Sheltered 2?

Sheltered 2 builds on the experience of the original game, as players create a leader and build their own faction, managing resources and trying to keep the base safe from threats, whether that’s the lack of resources, radiation, or enemy factions looking to raid your settlement and steal your stuff.

The faction system is new to Sheltered 2, with players able to send out their settlers on missions to encounter other factions. Not every faction is immediately out to get you though, meaning you’ll be able to forge relationships with other settlements and trade resources between each other. You’ll need to tread carefully though, as these partnerships can turn sour and lead to conflict. There’s also permadeath to consider, another new feature for Sheltered 2. If the leader dies, it’s game over.

Will Sheltered 2 Come To Consoles?

Sheltered 2 will be launching on Steam later this year, but right now, a console release hasn’t been confirmed. The original game eventually saw a release on PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch however, so it’s possible that the sequel will be coming to consoles eventually.
