Severed Steel Announces PC Release Date

The first-person cyber-parkour title is also coming to other platforms

Severed Steel

Publisher Digerati has shared a brief trailer today to announced that Severed Steel, a sci-fi first person shooter from developer Greylock Studio, will be available on September 17th Steam, Epic Games Store, and other PC gaming storefronts.

What is Severed Steel?

Taking visual inspiration from games like Mirror’s Edge, F.E.A.R, and Black, Severed Steel “casts players in the role of one-armed protagonist Steel as she battles against the forces of nefarious mega-corporation, EdenSys. The game features bullet-time and a fluid stunt system that allows Steel to wall run, dive, slide, and flip around the destructible environments,” according to a press release.

One unique gimmick to Severed Steel is the inability to reload weapons. Due to Steel’s physical impairment, when she runs out of ammo, she’ll have to drop the firearm and find another weapon to fire. This will mean players need to pick their shots carefully and may actually have to steal weapons out of their enemies’ hands.

A Steam demo is available for players who want to try Severed Steel before the September 17th release date.

Where Can I Play Severed Steel?

In addition to next month’s PC release, Digerati also confirmed that Severed Steel will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X | S sometime in 2022.
