Truck-kun, anime’s biggest menace and major player in Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, has been sending people to alternate realities for years now. However, he gets to take a break and let Train-kun do some work. Seirei Gensouki’s Haruto Amakawa dies when his bus is hit by a train, and his soul gets sent to a new world. He now lives as Rio, a kid living in the slums hell-bent on revenge on the person that murdered his mother.

This isekai story is unusual because Haruto got reincarnated into the body of someone who already has a history in the new world. So, the two souls living in one body must learn to coexist in a world filled with magic. Rio has gone through a lot, and there’s a lot more to come with Season 2. Here’s the Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 release window and what’s in store for Rio.

When Is Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 Being Released?

In late 2021, the official website confirmed that Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 is now in production. There’s no official release date yet for Seirei Gensouki: Season 2, though. All they’ve put out aside from the reveal is new official art and a 40-second announcement video that was pretty much just scenes from the first season.

In their website’s announcement post, Osamu Yamasaki, the director of the show, stated that Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 will take a little more time. Sure enough, Season 1 came out a year after it was announced, but it’s already been longer than a year for Season 2. Maybe it’ll take two years, in which case, it could release sometime in late 2023 to early 2024.

What Is Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 About?

Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 should pick up somewhere between Volumes 5-6 of the light novel. They skipped a lot of content from Volumes 4 and 5, so they might show those too. The ending of Season 1 coincides with Volume 5 though.

Volume 6 picks up right after Rio interrupts Celia’s wedding. They run away and live together for some time somewhere in the Amande countryside. Rio then tells Celia more about him and his previous life. All the while, Rio will still be on the trail of Lucious to finally get the revenge he’s been seeking.

Which Studio Is Making Seirei Gensouki: Season 2?

Seirei Gensouki had a pretty hefty team behind it for Season 1. MediaNet, Nippon Columbia, KlockWorx, Asmik Ace, Hobby Japan, BS Fuji, Strawberry Meets Pictures, Crunchyroll, Kanon Sound, NichiNare, Melonbooks, TMS Music, and CTW all co-produced it, while TMS Entertainment took care of the animation.

While it hasn’t been confirmed if this entire roster is working on Seirei Gensouki: Season 2, chances are, a decent chunk of them will be.

Various iconic anime have spawned from the companies on this list. Among these are Dr. Stone, Konosuba, and Mob Psycho 100. It’s an understatement to say that expectations are high for this series.

Where To Watch Seirei Gensouki

You can watch Season 1 of the show right now on Crunchyroll and Bilibili, depending on your region. They haven’t announced where Seirei Gensouki: Season 2 will be coming out, but these two streaming services are the best bet.
