SEGA Announce The Theme Hospital Inspired Two Point Hospital

Two Point Studios

Over the past couple of days, SEGA have been teasing an announcement which has finally been revealed today: they’re publishing the Theme Hospital inspired Two Point Hospital, which is being developed by Two Point Studios.

The developers are comprised of veterans from Lionhead, Bullfrog and Muckyfoot, so they have experience with management sims and the like. If there’s a team that can do the Theme Hospital name any form of justice, it’s Two Point.

The reason why the quote at the top of the page says this is a lesson in lowering expectations, however, is because of some of the replies to the above tweet from “fans”. SEGA’s pre-announcement hype involved a lot of the word “two”, leading many crackpot internet denizens to believe things along the lines of an announcement of the Dreamcast 2 or a sequel to Jet Set Radio. Now, they’re the ones disappointed because they weren’t given something that they weren’t promised to begin with. Then again, maybe some of them aren’t old enough to remember Theme Hospital, which just makes me feel even older.

Are you one of the internet denizens, disappointed with this latest announcement from SEGA, or are you happy to see the spiritual return of the legendary Theme Hospital? Check out the announcement trailer and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

On a more serious note, we published an article about how video games are the new frontier for gambling in the UK. It’s worth a read.
