Sea Of Thieves Closed Beta Participants Can Set Sail Again This Weekend

Sea of Thieves

If you were one of the many lucky participants of the Sea of Thieves closed beta from a few weeks back, prepare to set sail again this weekend. Rare have announced that they will be holding a scale test this weekend for the game.

In a video update on the Sea of Thieves YouTube channel, Executive Producer Joe Neate outlines the plans for this weekend’s test, which he said is designed to focus more on how the servers can handle massive amounts of players online at one time. With that in mind, don’t expect any new features to be popping up, as Rare are more focused on making sure the servers don’t shit the bed.

Neate also makes the comment that Rare are fully expecting to see problems arising with this test, which he says is “good for us – though maybe not for you!” The team may also have to stop players from logging in or take the test down temporarily as problems arise, so make sure you keep an eye on the Sea of Thieves social media over the weekend. No one wants to get the pirate crew together five minutes before the test is supposed to go offline.

The test will start tomorrow and will last throughout the weekend, all being well of course. The full game launches on March 20th, so it’s good to see that Rare are still working diligently to get the game ready for launch whilst being open with community. If you want to hear more about the test from the man himself, check out the video below, and let us know what you thought about Sea of Thieves in the comments. Seriously, let us know. We didn’t get to play the beta.

I’m not entirely sure how to segue this, but we have some tips for Hearthstone beginners. Perhaps you’d like to read them.
