Ryu Ga Gotoku’s Judgment Coming To PS5 & Xbox Series X | S This April

And also Stadia, apparently.

Judgment game

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that Judgment, the spin-off to the Yakuza series that’s still set in Kamurocho, will be getting a remaster for the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, marking its debut on Microsoft’s console. It’s also coming to Stadia, which I guess is good news for like 3 people. Judgment will launch on April 23rd, and you can check out the trailer at the top of the page.

What Is Judgment?

As mentioned, Judgment is a spin-off to the highly popular Yakuza series. Instead of following Kazuma Kiryu, or Ichiban Kasuga in the case of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Judgment let’s you play as Takayuki Yagami, a detective investigating a serial murder case that’s plaguing Kamurocho. Gameplay-wise, that means investigating crime scenes and beating up dudes. Fortunately, Yagami can do both, with his array of gadgets and two distinct fighting styles.

What’s So Special About This Remastered Version?

It doesn’t look like this new version of the game will receive new content, but the visuals have been refined and the game will run at 60fps, so that’s something. Unfortunately, while Xbox Series X | S owners appear to be getting a good deal, those who own the game already on PS4 will not be able to upgrade to PS5, and according to IGN, there’s no answer on whether or not you’ll be able to carry progress over from PS4 to PS5. It might be good news if you already platinumed the PS4 version, because you might be able to do it again, but otherwise it’s not the best.
