Ryan Murphy: The Next American Horror Story Will Be About the 2016 Election

As it was filled with more twists, turns, and conspiracy theories about pizza than any other American election in recent memory, it makes sense that the 2016 election would be serialised at some point.

But less than a year later and by kitsch king Ryan Murphy for a new season of American Horror Story? Apparently so, as the show’s creator told Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

“I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through.”

When asked if the show would have a Trump character (presumably played by Evan Peters in a natural progression from James Patrick March), Murphy responded with “maybe”.

Series veterans may be upset by this drastic change from the supernatural to something slightly more grounded. The only hope is that a swarm of murderous gimps attack Clinton and Trump during the presidential debates, which, let’s face it, is probably what Murphy is going to do.

American Horror Story recently concluded its Roanoke arc, a season which we found to lose steam quite quickly and turn into the worst effort so far.
