Rust PS4 & Xbox One: Where Is The Oil Rig?

Oil be danged.

Rust: Console Edition for the PS4 and Xbox One somehow achieved the unenviable task of squeezing the whole of Rust, a very resource intensive game, onto pretty old tech. While it works, it means that some of the game’s best monuments, such as the Oil Rig, aren’t included — yet.

Oil Rig isn’t in Rust: Console Edition as of launch, but it will be at some point in the future. According to the official update:

“We know that you want to see some of the most popular monuments like the Oil Rig and the Cargo Ship in game, as well as new methods of transportation like the horse, for example. Rest assured, some of those features are already being tested internally and we plan to release them in future content updates.”

The Oil Rig is one of the most intense monuments in the normal Rust experience, a giant structure out at sea where PVP and PVE almost always collides. It’s going to be very hard for Double Eleven to include it and not break what is already a very precarious game, but here’s hoping they can.

Rust: Console Edition is available now for PS4 and Xbox One. It will also be enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S via backwards compatibility.
