Rust Halloween 2021: What You Need To Know

Boo.

Rust Halloween 2021
Rust Halloween 2021

Rust is a terrifying descent into the madness of humanity at the best of times, but the Halloween event for 2021 is looking like taking that up a notch with new and returning content.

From the Trick or Treat event to a pumpkin competition to the opportunity to win some free skins, it’s all going down in Rust this October (and early November). Here’s everything you need to know about Rust’s Halloween event for 2021.

When Does Rust Halloween 2021 Begin and End?

Rust’s Halloween 2021 event will run from October 28th until November 4th, 2021, making it a couple of days shorter than last year. You will need to download an update.

Trick or Treat is returning to Rust again this year after spooking up some fun last year.

Every two in-game days or so, players will be able to take part in a candy hunt across the map to collect as much candy as they can. The top 3 players who collect the most loot will be rewarding for their looting with more loot in special loot bags. Even if you don’t manage to place on the podium, you can upgrade your loot to get even better loot. To help you get more candies, you can again use the Scarecrow Wrap to again hunt down the loot via candy vision

As for what kind of loot you can get, the Rust Halloween event in 2021 will hand out stuff as simple as resources for building your base all the way up an M249, probably the most desired weapon in the game.

Be warned, though: the scarecrow and mummy NPCs will also be making a Rust return this Halloween, but at least they will serve a pretty important purpose.

Frankenstein’s Monster Comes To Rust

The most interesting new thing about Rust Halloween this year has to be Frankenstein’s Monster.

Basically your pet monster, you will be able to build your own Frankenstein’s Monster by killing the scarecrows and mummies across the map and collecting the body parts they drop.

Once you have a head, torso and legs, you can craft a Frankenstein table, place the parts within it, and then awaken your new best friend. Use P to control Frankenstein’s Monster.

Frankenstein’s Monster will follow you around the map and melee attack anyone you attack while also defending you against anyone who attacks you.

If you ever had “Frankenstein’s Monster helping you doorcamp” on your Rust content bingo card, congratulations.

Rust Halloween 2021 Items

Rust Skull Rock

There are two major new items coming to Rust this year for Halloween, the Rock Skull and aforementioned Carvable Pumpkin.

The Rock Skull is a spooky alternative to the rock and is used to gather resources, while the Carvable Pumpkin is a pumpkin that can be carved into a design of your choosing, kind of like the signs that we’ve all no doubt drawn naughty parts on, once or twice or 69 times.

Here’s what’s also coming back to Rust this year:

Fogger 3000
Candle Pack
Cursed Cauldron
Strobe Light

That’s a lot of content.

What About Rust: Console Edition?

Rust: Console Edition is a completely separate game to Rust on PC, so none of this content will also be coming to the PlayStation and Xbox version of the game.

You can check out what’s coming to that version of Rust here.

Rust is available now on PC.
