The Royal Rumble match puts 30 of WWE’s best superstars through their paces, with the majority of the annual event’s showcases each lasting around an hour long. If you’re one of the unlucky participants to find yourself entering at either the number 1 or 2 position, then the Royal Rumble can be a true test of stamina and grit in order to be the last man standing.

Over the years, certain superstars have defied the odds and fought tooth and nail for remarkable amounts of time. The record for longest time spent in a single Royal Rumble match goes to Rey Mysterio, who lasted a total of 1 hour and 2 minutes. Mysterio entered second and went on to win the whole thing, eliminating Randy Orton to secure his spot at WrestleMania 22.

In the 2018 ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ event, Daniel Bryan entered the first and only 50 man Rumble match at the number 1 spot, lasting a total of 1 hour and 16 minutes before being eliminated by Big Cass. Even though the GRR doesn’t truly fit into the Rumble chronology, this is still an incredible feat that deserves equal praise.

When looking at superstars that have spent the most cumulative time in a Royal Rumble match, there’s been no bigger MVP than ‘Le Champion’ Chris Jericho, who has spent a grand total of 4 hours and 59 minutes in Rumble matches throughout his 30 year career.

The Royal Rumble is a chance for any superstar to step up and show the world that they have the ability to entertain a crowd for long periods of time. Rumbles and battle royals may often divulge into absolute carnage but these few have certainly secured their spot in the halls of Rumble royalty.
