Rookie Wrestler Triple H Wins Royal Rumble 2016

HHH wins the royal rumble

Plucky young upstart Triple H has shocked many fans and pundits by winning this year’s Royal Rumble. The indie darling, who has made a name for himself across many different promotions as somewhat of a wrestling nomad, entered the fray as entry number 30.

After the elimination of the current champion, the constantly post-shower Roman Reigns, the final two came down to Triple H and Dean Ambrose: the industry veteran who surely would have been the odds-on favourite before the two squared up. “Yes” chants echoed around the arena as the underdog came out victorious, cementing himself as a star of the future.

The 26-year old blames his aged appearance on a lifetime diet of processed meat.

Speaking after the match,Triple H said: “This is a dream come true. I used to have posters of Dean Ambrose up on my wall as a kid – he really used to be my idol. So to be able to fight him and come out as the new champion? I got three words for you: hashtag blessed.”

Here’s hoping the new WWE World Heavyweight can keep the momentum going and defy the odds. The rank outsider to win this year’s tournament, coming in at 50000/1, can only go up in the wrestling world.

Elsewhere at this year’s Royal Rumble, an old man kissed an Irish girl and everyone laughed because he was old and weird and that’s what they do.
