Hi-Rez Studios have announced that Rogue Company, their free-to-play team shooter, will be available as an Xbox Series X|S optimised launch title, meaning players who download the game on new consoles will be able to experience the next-gen benefits.

So What’s Different About Rogue Company On The Xbox Series X|S?

The main benefit here is framerate, as Rogue Company will be playable at a smooth 120fps on both the Xbox Series X and Series S. Meanwhile, the resolution has been improved to boot, with a native 4K output on the Series X, while the Series S resolution hits 1440p. Rogue Company will also still support full cross-play and cross-progression across other platforms to boot.

The official press release we received today only mentioned the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, so there’s no word on whether or not the PS5 version will receive any special enhancements. It’ll be playable via backwards compatibility, of course, but whether it’ll support 120fps at 4K is a different story. We’ve reached out to the game’s PR team for comment.

Any Other News Regarding Rogue Company?

Yesterday, a brand new Rogue became available: The Fixer. He’s a stylish looking sniper that comes with thermal goggles, allowing him to see enemy heat signatures for a short duration. He costs 20,000 Reputation to purchase, which is the game’s free currency, or 700 Rogue Bucks, which translates to about £5.60. Of course, the cheapest set of Rogue Bucks is 1000 for £7.99.

On top of that, there’s a Ranked Mode Beta that’s designed to provide more intense matches than casual queues. Players much reach level 30 in order to access this mode, and players will earn experience to contribute towards their ranked level. Experience can only be gained through wins, and can be lost in defeat, so make sure you bring your best team. For more details, along with patch notes, check out the official website.
