When L.A. Noire, Rockstar’s foray into the gritty glamour of late 1940’s L.A .and all the crime that came with it, came out, it was widely praised for its MotionScan technology, which let you interpret your suspects in different ways.

I thought L.A. Noire was brilliant, trying to solve crimes, uncover evidence, interrogating witnesses and chasing down bad guys was all part of the fun and, as always, it was brilliantly voice-acted. As well as that, the costumes, cars, cops and crime were all authentic.

So now we are hearing that we could be getting both a first person mode and VR capability for a remastered version of LA Noire. Not only that, but LA Noire could be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Whether this is true remains to be seen. Rockstar like to keep things close to their chest until they are ready to show their product to the world.

But even at this very moment in time, as Rockstar will be keeping schtum until Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out, we can still get excited about playing as Cole Phelps in VR or in first person mode, a la GTA V.

I think it will work well with the whole aspect of questioning suspects and gauging reactions to your questions. Not only will it make the game way more immersive, but it will also ensure that hunting for clues and inspecting the victims of whatever gruesome crime scene you’re investigating stays as fresh and as exciting as ever.

In my opinion, L.A. Noire is criminally underrated. The music, the setting, the gameplay, and the plot including the back story and the characters were all fantastic. I think LA Noire deserves a remastered version which would bring it to the current gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One). Here’s hoping the rumours are right and L.A. Noire: Remastered Edition will be hitting our shelves sooner rather than later.
