Rob Van Dam Confirmed For WWE Hall Of Fame 2021

ROB. VAN. DAM.

After a week of speculation, Rob Van Dam has finally been confirmed for the 2021 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame. Joining legendary stars such as Kane, Batista and The NWO, Rob Van Dam will take his rightful place in the HOF next Tuesday, as we inch closer towards WWE’s second two-night WrestleMania event.

Who is Rob Van Dam?

Rob Van Dam first emerged as part of the Monday Night Wars, when he competed as part of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), becoming one of the most unique and talked about performers across the entire industry. RVD captured the ECW and Television Championships before debuting for WWE in 2001 as part of the Invasion.

Van Dam’s popularity would continue to grow over the years as a perennial mid-carder who would often be found competing for the Intercontinental Championships in feuds against Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and Eddie Guererro. RVD would later team with fellow HOF inductee,Kane throughout 2002/03, before capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 22 and later successfully cashing-in to win his first and only WWE Championship from John Cena.

There’s no doubt that RVD has earned his place in the WWE Hall of Fame; not only was he one of the most beloved wrestlers of the Ruthless Aggression era, but he was also a pioneer in modernising the hardcore style of pro wrestling.

RVD has been instrumental to wrestling throughout his active career, whether it be inside or outside of WWE, there wasn’t a single fan not chanting along to his name and jabbing their thumbs into their skull. A well deserved place in the Hall of Fame, here’s hoping for one last Five-Star Frog Splash before he hangs up the boots.
