Respawn Addressing Apex Legends Hitbox Issues

Poor Pathfinder.

Caustic

After a small furore over on the official subreddit for the game, Respawn have confirmed that they will be looking into the inaccurate hitboxes for some of the Legends in Apex Legends.

Pathfinder is the Legend with the most issues as his hitbox is much larger than it should be; a video shows him being shot between the legs and the hits still registering while in training mode. Check out the footage from SookieSpy below in which other characters, such as Bloodhound, seem to have perfect hitboxes while poor Pathfinder somehow gets hit around his feet and hands despite the bullets not really being that near.

A redditor asked the question of Respawn on the offical subreddit before a community manager replied with, “Sure! We are definitely aware of it and we were actually discussing it today. I can’t say anything more for now but we hear you guys.”

There are also other discussions going on in the subreddit right now regarding hitboxes, particularly when it comes to how the meatier boys are at a natural disadvantage. Both Caustic and Gribraltar seem to attract bullets, whereas characters like Lifeline and Wraith in particular are much harder to hit. Lifeline is small and slender, but Wraith is even harder to hit in her running animation as she leans forward, Naruto style. This is the exact reason why I never play as either Gibraltar or Caustic: they just have too much beef.

From our Apex Legends review:

“Even the most jaded of battle royale fans will find their interest rejuvenated by Apex Legends thanks to Respawn’s attention to detail, superior gunplay, and fantastic innovations, though the loot boxes and progression system certainly need addressing.”
