The Well Wheel is a highly useful key item in Resident Evil Village that’s essential for collecting some of the best loot in the game, but it can also be quite easily missed.
You may have noticed a few wells around the village from your playtime so far, which have yellow tape all over them, but nothing seems to work when you go to examine them. That’s where the Well Wheel comes in, and it’s available after you escape Castle Dimitrescu.
The Well Wheel is located in a rundown shack of sorts near the house with the red chimney, which is a main objective for the story.
The front gate is locked, so go around to the left and all the way around, using your Iron Insignia key to open the gate. Walk through the gate and then through the most immediate door next to the ladder, finding the Well Wheel on top of some barrels.
To use the Well Wheel, just examine any of the wells around the village with the yellow tape and select the Well Wheel — a bucket will bring up any submerged treasures.
You need the Well Wheel to create the Wooden Goat and Miss Madalina treasures, two of the most valuable items in the game. The Well Wheel can also bring up other loot, such as ammo and crafting materials.
