Resident Evil Village SteamDB Page Tags Suggest Multiplayer Features

Oh no, maybe that big scary vampire lady will chase you and your friends.

Resident Evil Village is set to be properly unveiled tomorrow at the Resident Evil Showcase event, with gameplay footage and more details to be shown at 10pm GMT. However, one of the features might have been outed ahead of time: multiplayer.

Resident Evil Village Will Have Multiplayer?

That’s according to the SteamDB tags for the game anyway (thanks, Wccftech). SteamDB contains listings for everything available on Steam, whether released or otherwise, and has been used in the past as a way of revealing details about games that aren’t yet available, and in some rare cases, it’s actually led to games being revealed before their official announcement.

Isn’t There A Closed Multiplayer Beta For Resident Evil Coming Up?

There is, yes. One of the aspects of the Resident Evil Showcase announcement that was teased beforehand was that Capcom would also be revealing a new RE multiplayer game, with closed betas set for the end of the month. With the SteamDB discovery, the question now becomes whether or not this multiplayer reveal will be part of the Resident Evil Village experience, or if it’ll be it’s own game, similar to Resident Evil Resistance which was available with Resident Evil 3’s remake. Time will tell on this one.
