With the long-awaited reveal of its release date and exactly which platforms you will be able to play it on, Capcom have also shared a look at all of the different editions for this year’s Resident Evil Village.
Village once again puts you in the faceless shoes of Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7 and sees you trying to track down your baby in a strange land where giant ladies roam and rumbly tumbly men sell you stuff out of wagons. Resident Evil Village will be available on next-gen as well as current-gen systems with an option to upgrade from the latter to the former for free across all editions.

The Resident Evil Village Collector’s Edition may not be as cool as Resident Evil 7’s, but it’s always hard to say no to a statue of Chris Redfield, the neckless man himself. You will also receive a box and steelbook case, a special poster that looks to be a map, and an artbook, along with everything else in the Deluxe Edition (known as the Trauma Pack) and the pre-order bonuses.
No price has been revealed for the Village Collector’s Edition so far, though based on other CEs in the past that have statues and similar contents, expect it to cost you between $150 and $200. Retailers are likely to include GameStop in the US and GAME in the UK.

Resident Evil Village’s Deluxe Edition is a bit of an interesting one in that it has the hardest difficulty essentially as paid DLC, a unique weapon, and what looks like a special way of saving the game. There’s also The Tragedy of Ethan Winters in this Deluxe Edition, though we’re checking with Capcom to see what that actually might be as it’s unclear.
Known as the Trauma Pack, this collection of items is going to set you back an extra $10/£10 in total compared to the Standard Edition. Whether it’s worth that is your call, but we’re not entirely convinced.

As the name suggests, this edition comes with Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition in one bundle. Honestly, it’s not a great deal.
Instead, we recommend you buy Resident Evil 7 physically for a lot less as it’s dropped in price quite a lot since release. It’s also included with the PlayStation Plus Collection on PS5 and Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
Another reason to avoid this for Xbox fans: you will have to wait until Village’s release on May 7th to access it.
