Wayshrines in Resident Evil 4 Remake are locked shrines that players do not have immediate access to, and it’s not quite clear how to change this either. Luckily, all you have to do is wait and progress the main story before these become available.
To unlock Wayshrines in Resident Evil 4, players first have to get to Chapter 4 and then get past the lake section. As you’re making your way down a path from the Mural Cave, you will come across the Old Wayshrine Key in a chest atop what looks like another shrine.

There are around 5 or so wayshrines to find in the village sections of Resident Evil 4, which all become visible on your map after you come across them for the first time. These chests usually contain treasures that can either be sold to the Merchant for a high price or gemstones that can be installed into the treasure to make it an even higher price. They’re well worth seeking out if you’re looking to upgrade your weapons early in the game.
