Resident Evil 4 Remake: How To Get More Spinel

Spinel in Resident Evil 4 Remake is used to trade with the Merchant for exclusive items that can’t be found elsewhere in the story, including weapons like the Punisher and treasures. It’s a separate currency to pesetas that can be found almost anywhere, and Spinel is actually far harder to come across.

To get more Spinel in Resident Evil 4, the most consistent way is to complete Blue Requests from the Merchant. These involve doing things like destroying Blue Medallions, getting rid of rats, and even defeating tough mini-bosses. There’s even one for finding a Gold Chicken Egg. The amount of Spinel you earn depends on the job request, but you will get at least a few per request completed, typically more for defeating mini-bosses.

Players can also earn the odd Spinel by defeating the plagas-infested knights around the castle, though you should expect a maximum of ten or so Spinel per playthrough by defeating these knights. On very rare occasions, players can also find Spinel in crates around the castle. We only ever found 1-2 per playthrough.

You won’t be able to trade for everything with the Merchant in one playthrough, but luckily all of the Spinel you end a playthrough with will carry over to New Game Plus, as will all of the weapons you have traded for with Spinel. You will, however, have to buy things like Treasure Maps again.

Resident Evil 4 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X & S.
