Resident Evil 4 Remake is very faithful to the original classic with only a few major changes to the core formula. One of the things it’s kept the same is the level of challenge, with Resident Evil 4 striking a superb balance between being challenging yet fair, but there is a way to change difficulty if you’re having some trouble.

To change difficulty in Resident Evil 4, you must be playing on Standard difficulty. When you die, press Y/triangle and you will switch to Assisted mode, which gives you aim assist and makes enemies less of a challenge. There is no other way of changing difficulty in Resident Evil 4 apart from starting a new game or new game plus.

There are four difficulty levels in Resident Evil 4:

– Assisted
– Standard
– Hardcore
– Professional

The higher the difficulty, the more damage enemies do and the more you take. There are a couple of puzzle differences too, and one or two layout changes to levels. You need to complete the game on Professional to get the Platinum trophy, and also get an S+ on Hardcore.
