Wouldn’t you just know it? More leaks have emerged regarding the possibility of a new Resident Evil game, with today’s leak suggesting that the game will be titled Resident Evil 8: Village.

The leak comes courtesy of Biohazardcast.com, who received a report from an anonymous source who has leaked information to the site in the past. The sources states that Capcom are aiming to release Resident Evil 8: Village at some point during Q1 2021, which is a release date that matches up with a prior leak regarding the game.

Beyond that, the report suggests that the game will once again feature Resident Evil 7’s protagonist Ethan, as he explore a European village. Ethan will be chased by an entity known as The Witch, who utilises insects in a similar way to Marguerite. She apparently “haunts” the player, and will dissipate into insects once defeated.

The inventory is said to be a mix of RE4 and RE7, and the game will feature hallucinations that’ll make it hard to discern reality from fiction. The leak also suggests that Chris Redfield will play a huge role in the game, possibly in an antagonistic role, as a flashback sequence shows Chris breaking into Ethan and Mia’s house to shoot at the pair. At the very least, his character model has been updated after the previous game’s outcry.

While, like with all leaks, we should take this with a hefty pinch of salt, the picture surrounding Resident Evil 8 is becoming clearer and clearer. Does any of the information above sound interesting to you? Sound off in the comments.
