Red Solstice 2: Survivors is a tense game featuring small squads of elite soldiers surviving endless hordes of enemies to desperately complete objectives in a bid to save humanity. Players will spend a lot of time configuring their marines to maximize damage with the soldier class giving a starting point to figuring out a combat role. This tutorial will cover all the main soldier classes in Red Solstice 2.
Here are the six soldier classes in Red Solstice 2:
– Assault
– Medic
– Heavy
– Recon
– Demolition
– Marksman
And here’s everything you need to know about classes in Red Solstice 2.
Every squad of elite special operations marines needs a balanced roster to tackle various threats, adapt to the ever-changing battlefield, and achieve a broad range of objectives.
Assault

The Assault class is the most flexible and common jack-of-all-trades marine with the widest options available for various loadouts. They can be kitted out to be balanced, or offence oriented with speed-enhancing modules and fast firing weapons, or they can be geared for heavy support bringing heavier firepower with upgrades. Assaults are the workhorse of any squad and will answer almost any threat. However, their lack of specialization will make them struggle against some of the tougher and unique mutant enemies.
Medic
The Medic class in many ways is similar to the Assault, having much of the same equipment, such as weapons and upgrade modules. The biggest difference is that whereas the Assault is meant to carry the fight and complete objectives, the Medic ensures that all other classes are able to finish the fight intact. In early stages of missions where mutant enemies haven’t evolved to dangerous levels, Medics can act more like Assaults, but in later stages, your squad will benefit greatly from the added longevity and resilience a Medic brings.
Heavy

The Heavy specializes in big guns with big magazines for big damage. Heavies typically trade speed for the ability to carry some of the higher capacity weapons like machine guns, miniguns, and autocannons that aren’t only great for clearing out large numbers of low-level enemies, but also suppressing and slowing down larger and tougher opponents. The Heavy also has a slew of abilities that are weapon-centric, such as activating a shoulder-mounted turret or refreshing ammo.
Recon
The Recon class is arguably the most risky and difficult class to learn and utilize, but no less valuable. The value of Recon soldiers comes from their speed and the ability to give line of sight on targets all for the purpose of giving greater battlefield awareness. In terms of damage, they mostly focus on light weapons, but can also utilize powerful call-in abilities, such as artillery strikes.
Demolition
The Demolition class is the explosive cousin to the Heavy, but instead of big guns, this class focuses on big explosives and armor busting abilities. Conventionally speaking, this class is more suited for dealing with large opponents, an indispensable asset in later stages of any mission. Unlike the Heavy that has an array of weapons possible for a variety of playstyles, the Demolition is probably the most specialized and niche class.
Marksman

Contrary to the bombastic Demolition soldier, the Marksman class is far more focused on precision damage. The Marksman class has some of the longest range weapons of any class and synergizes very well with the Recon class to utilize the farstrike advantage. In terms of a squad role, the Marksman also pairs as another set of eyes to provide intelligence and tactical awareness to the team.
Knowing each soldier class’ strengths and weaknesses is only the start of composing an effective team. Each soldier can benefit from augmentations and modules, and better yet a good team of players to coordinate with to solve tactical problems on the fly.
