Red Dead Redemption 2 is no doubt one of the more hotly anticipated titles of this year, after its initial announcement at the end of a brief but exciting marketing blitz.
UK online retailer Base.com has, as of this writing, a listing for RDR 2 on the Xbox One and the Playstation 4Â that both list September 26th, 2017 as the game’s release date.
While only a rumor, the date is plausible for a couple of reasons – it falls on the traditional Tuesday release day for games, and it lines up with the Fall 2017 timeframe specified by Rockstar themselves.
Running counter to this date is a statement from 2K games, as reported by Playstation Universe, that the game would come out in “Fiscal 2018,” which does not begin until October 2017.
True or not, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough, though I personally don’t expect an official announcement by Rockstar for at least a few months, perhaps not even until around E3. A Bethesda-esque announcement within a short time of the release itself would certainly be nice.
