Raphael Officially Confirmed For Soulcalibur VI

Soulcalibur VI

Bandai Namco have officially confirmed the existence of Raphael in Soulcalibur VI, a few weeks after one of those pesky leaks outed that he and Cervantes would be returning to the series. At least now we get to see what he looks like in game, and he’s as stylish and flamboyant as he ever has been. Also, he doesn’t seem to be a vampire right now, which can only be a good thing. Vamp Raph was a weird one.

His gameplay remains largely unchanged in this new version, with his fancy throws and million stab attacks all making their way into Soulcalibur VI. He has been given a few new tools though, including what appears to be a double foot stomp and a Rapier assisted jumping uppercut. His Critical Edge also looks like something out of an anime, which is completely on point for the character.

Raphael joins a packed roster of returning favourites, including Astaroth, Maxi, Ivy, Mitsurugi, Cervantes and more, along with new characters like Azwel and Groh. Of course, if you’re not happy with any of those characters, you could always make your own using the creation tools provided. We’re totally going to make an army of lizardmen, how about you?

Soulcalibur VI will launch on October 19th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Will you be picking it up? Sound off in the comments below.
