Rainbow Six: Siege Reaches 25 Million Players As Operation White Noise Launches

Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft’s tactical first person shooter Rainbow Six: Siege has just surpassed 25 million players across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, just in time for the latest DLC pack to land.

Operation White Noise is available now on all platforms, including a new map and 3 new operators. The new map, named Mok Myeok Tower, is based in a skyscraper in Seoul, South Korea. Like previous DLC packs, this map is available to all players in all modes, and has been added to the regular rotations.

White Noise is part of the Season 2 bundle, so owners of that pack now have access to 3 new operators. Dokkaebi and Vigil are from South Korea’s 707th Special Mission Battalion, whilst Zofia joins the Polish CTU GROM as its second member. Dokkaebi and Zofia are both Attack operators, with Dokkaebi utilising a military laptop named Logic Bomb to hack enemy devices and compromise their positions.

Zofia, meanwhile, favours a more direct approach, as she is equipped with a double barrelled grenade launcher codenamed LIFELINE that can use both concussive and impact ammunition. She sounds like Ash but better, somehow. As for Defend operators, Vigil sounds like a nasty piece of work. He makes use of an Electronic Rendering Cloak which essentially allows him to remain undetected by hostile cameras. Expect all Vigil players to stay at the objective and ruin you from out of nowhere.

Owners of the Season 2 Pass can access those operators right now, but those who don’t must wait for a week before being able to purchase them individually using either R6 Credits or built up Renown. The 25 million players have a lot to look forward to in 2018 too, as Year 3 kicks off with Operation Chimera, which will add a French and Russian operator, along with the Outbreak event, which is a limited time co-operative event that many have speculated could be zombie related. More details are set to be announced during the Rainbow Six Siege Invitational in February.
