Bethesda have confirmed that QuakeCon 2022 is happening, but like the past two years, the event will be purely digital only, as the uncertainty that still exists regarding the global pandemic means it’s not wise to plan an in-person event. However, just because it’s online-only doesn’t mean you can’t attend.

Here’s everything you need to know about QuakeCon 2022.

QuakeCon 2022 Start Date and Time

The virtual QuakeCon 2022 event will take place across three days, starting on August 18th 2022 and ending on August 20th.

Exact timings and schedules for the different events, conferences and talks that’ll be held during the event are still to be determined, though Bethesda have promised that more details will be announced in June.

How & Where To Watch QuakeCon 2022

If previous events are anything to go by, the best place to catch everything regarding QuakeCon 2022 will be on Bethesda’s official Twitch account, which will likely be streaming the entire event during its three day run.

If you’re unable to catch the event as it’s happening, you’ll either be able to watch VODs on the Twitch channel, or catch highlights on the official Bethesda YouTube channel.

What To Expect From QuakeCon 2022

In an official press release regarding QuakeCon 2022, the publisher announced that the event will include “new streaming programming, online meetups, giveaways, charity opportunities, the virtual BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer), and more”. Again, more details and announcements regarding what will be included during the event will be confirmed in June.

As for game announcements and the like, QuakeCon has morphed from just focusing on Quake itself to all things Bethesda, so there’s no shortage of potential announcements. Last year’s event was somewhat understated, with updates for DOOM Eternal announced, a new Quake port shadow dropped on modern platforms, and Skyrim: Anniversary Edition was confirmed. Other years have seen DOOM Eternal confirmed, so it’s possible that we could see some big things during QuakeCon 2022.

Will QuakeCon Return To In Person Events?

The official press release for QuakeCon 2022 has pledged that Bethesda are committed to returning to in-person events in 2023, stating the following: “We’re committed to returning with our full in-person festival in 2023, and already looking forward to reconnecting with friends, a massive BYOC packed with your latest custom PC creations, our wild contests, and tons of great new games and hardware for attendees to try out.”
