Sony Sold 6 Million PS4 Units Over The Holiday Season

There were a lot of happy gamers this holiday season as there were 6 million PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles sold in December last year, Sony announced at CES 2018.

On top of this, the PlayStation Plus subscription service now has 31.5 million subscribers, meaning almost half of all PS4 users are subscribed. In general, sales have been at an all-time high, as in the same period of time 55.9 million games were bought, spread across digital and retail, which brings the total up to an average nine games per console as total console sales hit 73.6 million.

December 2017 was a great month for sales, in fact, it was the best month of all time for content sales on the PSN Store.

Even if it was 200k fewer console sales than December 2016, it’s still a great month for Sony as they continue to be the best-selling home console of this generation so far, although the Switch still has the potential to catch up, being the fastest-selling console of all time.
