PS VR Hits 2 Million Sales, Sony Looking To Double 2018 Game Releases

For all those fans who have been rightfully complaining about the lack of games on PS VR, Sony is expecting roughly 130 new games for its exclusive VR headset this year alone. Last time they showed a list of games to come in 2017 and early 2018, there were 60 entries.

Although it might seem ambitious to expect double the amount of games this year as compared to last year, they have their reasons, as there are currently 2 million owners of PS VR headsets.

This seems to be the first sign that Sony has learned from what they did with the PS Vita in western countries, but it’s still not as convincing as it should be. The reason that there is even such a large PS VR install base is because they cut the price down by $100, bundling it with the PS Camera that you need to use, or alternatively also with PS Move Controllers and PS VR Worlds, for only $50 more than the original bundle, making it the cheapest way to jump on the VR hype train.

If Sony’s predictions are correct, this could lead to another rise in purchased VR consoles. Maybe we’ll see some more blockbusters along the lines of Arkham VR, DOOM VFR or SUPERHOT VR.
