Prison School: Season 2 – Everything You Should Know

Prison School Season 2
Prison School Season 2

Prison School is a 2015 ecchi-comedy anime about a unique system in a school. Adapted from the manga written by Akira Hiramoto, it follows the story of the new five male students – Kiyoshi, Gakuto, Shingo, Joe and Andre – attending the previously all-girls Hachimitsu Academy. The school is notoriously strict, and after the boys are caught trying to peep into the female students’ bathing area, they are forced by the Underground Student Council to go to the school’s prison for a month. If they try to escape, more time will be added onto their sentence. If they try to escape a third time, they will be expelled from the school.

Despite its raunchy nature, Prison School is an anime that doesn’t take itself too seriously and goes all in on its premise. The ‘protagonists’ are masochistic jerks who enjoy the punishment they receive, and the anime’s first season concluded with an interesting turn of events. With Season 1 being left on a cliffhanger, fans are eager to see what happens next. Here is everything you should know about Prison School: Season 2.

When Is Prison School: Season 2 Being Released?

Sadly, there is no news on whether Prison School: Season 2 will release, as there’s been no updates on if it’s been renewed or cancelled. There is an OVA called Prison School: Mad Wax, and there have been a few rumors in the past about a potential follow-up season, but as for anything official? Neither the manga author nor any of the companies associated with the project have said anything about it, so Prison School: Season 2 is looking pretty unlikely.

While anime fans will have to be patient for any hope of a new season of Prison School, the manga series has been completed as of 2017 and is the best option for those who can’t wait to find out how the story ends.

What Could Prison School: Season 2 Be About?

The anime’s first season concluded at the end of the boys’ imprisonment arc, with the boys getting their freedom and the Underground Society Club going to prison instead. The second season would focus on the USC’s imprisonment arc.

This arc focuses on the struggles of USC, as the previous abusers find themselves abused, and the Official Student Council are introduced as the new villain of the story, with an interpersonal history between both clubs.

Prison School is based on a completed manga series, and with the first season only covering the first arc of the story, there is loads of material for future adaptations.

Which Studio Could Make Prison School: Season 2?

The anime adaptation of Prison School was animated by J.C. Staff, so if we were to get Prison School: Season 2, they’d be likely to return. Prison School is licensed by Madman Entertainment in Australia and Crunchyroll in North America and the United Kingdom.
