#PowerToDecide: YouTube Want Content Creators To Persuade People to Vote in the UK General Election

YouTube

Forgetting for a second that we have a lightweight 307 subscribers and only occasionally upload videos, YouTube got in touch with us to ask us to enlighten our audience about the upcoming UK General Election.

Seemingly empowered by the likes of JME and Danny DeVito, the video giant sent us an email to ask us to use the hashtag #PowerToDecide in videos which encourage UK voters to get out to polling booths on June 8th.

Here’s what they want from us and countless other channels they messaged:

– Create a video that shows your fans the risk of letting someone else make a decision for you. You can have a stranger choose your next video topic or some crazy outfit you wear for a day. Get creative!

– End your video by encouraging fans not to give up their #PowerToDecide. Ask them to vote on 8th June. Optional: tag 3 other creators to take part in the challenge!

– Post your video on YouTube and submit it to us for a chance to be included in our #PowerToDecide campaign. This campaign will be seen by millions across the UK, so send your video to powertodecide@wearesocial.net (their agency partner) by 9am 24th May to be considered!

Videos could then possibly be edited into a montage which will be a part of the #PowerToDecide campaign.

Here’s our official statement on what you should do:

Vote, you Nigel. Even if it isn’t a popular choice, just vote.
