Pokémon Sword & Shield Officially Revealed

Coming to the Nintendo Switch this year.

Pokémon Sword

During today’s short Pokémon Direct livestream, Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak officially revealed the next step in the classic RPG series, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Naturally, these games take place in a new region with new critters to obtain. Check out the trailer below.

The new game takes place in the Galar Region, which features a mix of idyllic countryside and cities. Honestly, it looks a lot like the British countryside, which we’re totally okay with, though for the true British experience, one of the new Pokémon should be a broken trolley in a wet ditch.

The direct gave us a quick glimpse at the 3 starter Pokémon that you’ll be choosing from at the start of the game, Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble. Honestly, Scorbunny might have won us over already, but you’ll get to pick your favourite when Pokémon Sword and Shield launch in late 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.
