Pokémon GO on your hols.

Pokemon Go

Pokémon GO Fest 2020 is just over a week away, which means we have reached our final anniversary event for the game. Week 3 of this event focuses on friendship, and as always will have a special Timed Research to complete, as well as other special bonuses and Pokémon appearances.

This Friendship event will run from July 17th 8am until July 22nd 10pm local time, and you’ll want to make sure to complete the Timed Research before the end. Not only will you have the chance to encounter an Alolan Raichu and the new Pokémon Petilil, but also earn yourself a Lucky Egg (to earn double the XP for a limited time) as well as other items. As with the previous weeks, if 1 million players from each team complete this Timed Research, extra Pokémon will appear at GO Fest. For Instinct, it’s Togetic, for Mystic, Dratini, and for Valor, Litwick.

Also included during this third anniversary week is a Summer-themed event, and that itself brings a bunch of separate treats for you in the game.

Summer themed Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs and be catchable from raids.
Shiny Bellsprout will be available in the game for the first time
Petilil will be available in the game for the first time as well, and will be available in the wild (in sunny weather) and in 5km Eggs
Summer Style Pikachu will be available in the wild again
– Taking a snapshot in-game will earn you a surprise during this event

Once Week 3 is over and done with, you’ll want to be preparing yourself for GO Fest 2020. Don’t forget to buy yourself a ticket from the in-game shop if you want to participate in the event on the 25th-26th July. Niantic also confirmed today that all three teams had 1 million players complete the Timed Research from weeks 1 and 2, which means Chimecho, Alomomola, Chansey, Alolan Grimer, Alolan Marowak and Ferroseed will all be appearing at GO Fest.

Pokémon Go is a downloadable mobile game where you can catch, battle and trade Pokémon in the real world. Grab your friends and don’t forget you gotta catch ‘em all!
