Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl EXP Share

EXP Share is a feature of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that allows all members of your party to earn some EXP from a battle even if they don’t take part.

It’s a great quality of life feature for those who don’t have the time to spare to level up their party in the “classic” way, but for purists, it might make things a bit too easy. Is there any way to turn off EXP Share in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?

No, you cannot turn off EXP Share in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. All EXP is shared across your party with no option to disable it.

While this might disappoint more serious Pokémon players, it does make sense from a general perspective as it just makes the game far less of a grind and more appealing to casual players. It’s a pity there’s no option to toggle it off, though.

However, there are other ways to challenge yourself in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl if you’re finding that EXP Share is making it too easy. Check out a Nuzlocke challenge, where any Pokémon that faints in battle can never be used again.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is available now on Switch.
